South Node

Card: “South Node”
From: Easy Astrology Oracle Cards by Maya White

Today I pulled (randomly chose) the South Node card, which I also pulled on January 15, which was only 11 days ago.  It’s always quite interesting when coincidences occur and some people prefer to call it serendipity. Here’s a link to the first post, which also gives us some background on the moon’s nodes: http://valaday.blogspot.com/2012/01/south-node.html.

A few statistics:
-     This is my 22nd blog post
-     I am using 5 decks of cards, representing 280 individual cards
-     3 times I’ve shuffled each deck individually, rearranged the order of the decks, then I put them in a special purple box and every day I reach in without looking and choose a card.

So it really is quite incredible that I’ve chosen this card again so soon. I believe that everything happens for a reason, so we must have to revisit what the south node means, and how we can use it. So let’s take a closer look.

One thing the South Node represents is what personality traits we have that are overdeveloped.  What traits do you have that you wish you didn’t have?  Those are probably the ones that are overdeveloped and limiting your growth in other areas.  Don’t just think of the outward traits - intense shyness and negative self-talk are overdeveloped traits.  Negative self-talk may represent being too critical of one’s self.  We are here to learn and to grow, so let yourself do these things without judgement, only observation and use those observations to create change.

Having overdeveloped traits also means we have more to learn about those particular traits.  So maybe our particular traits aren’t overdeveloped but instead we just have to learn how to use them differently.   What can you learn about your particular traits?  How can you use them differently?

Perhaps you’ve already been working on changing your personality so that you are more at peace and more in balance.  I know that I have made some progress in some areas, but I’m sure I have more work to do in others.

Where have you made progress?  It’s important to recognize our accomplishments, so today, give yourself praise for doing something good for yourself.

Love,
Val ♥
